Having introduced mandatory remote work, we discovered that we can help combat the COVID-19 outbreak in yet another way. The European Commission has sent out a call for tech companies to develop coronavirus relevant innovations, and Evojam has responded to the challenge. In just two days, we generated an app idea, estimated the project, and submitted the required documentation to the EC.

We’ve applied for fast-track EU funding to create a mobile application that would keep individuals united and fully informed. Evojam has always been people-oriented, and so is the app we’ve proposed.

Our product, CoVida, will work as a source of verified information from the authorities and regular updates from the people in one’s circle. The application will offer an option to make and confirm self-diagnosis, keep track of coronavirus cases in a specific area, and look after vulnerable neighbours and family members. One of the key features is a notification system that issues warnings and advises on safety measures. Thanks to this functionality, app users are informed when somebody they’ve had contact with is infected, so they can act accordingly and get tested.

Currently, CoVida is awaiting a review and decision of the European Commission.

Update: The EU-funded project is not the only coronavirus-related initiative we’ve undertaken. Today, we offered our technical support to Govtech Poland NGO - a company collecting information about individuals and organizations that are willing to help.
