Virtual Control is truly driven by its mission statement — make radical transparency possible in global operations using AI/Machine Learning. While that message resonates with manufacturing businesses involved in global trade, the company needed something tangible to present to potential investors.
Here’s how we brought Virtual Control’s philosophy to life and delivered the first version of the platform, which secured funding and attracted customers.
Our Roles
CONSULTING
We navigated the creative process and managed the project.
BACKEND
We delivered a reliable custom back-end solution.
FRONTEND
We also made sure the app is intuitive and visually appealing.
QUALITY ASSURANCE
We confirmed that each unit of the software performs as designed.
Challenge
In the era of globalized distribution, companies rely on products transported to and from other parts of the world. International trade boosts economic growth, but the process brings with it many potential failure points. Virtual Control, a Hong Kong–based startup, came up with an idea to de-risk global supply chains. They want logistics professionals to manage warehouse and transport operations through one software platform. It required the development of a complex, multi-layered app. Even so, the product had to be delivered fast — Virtual Control needed to show investors its distinctive features and get funding.
So, how could we create a functional and intuitive app that covers all the steps of the supply chain process… in a strictly limited time?
Solution
We let the manufacturing industry inspire us to operate like a well-oiled machine. There were three key elements that made the gears move in perfect sync — team composition, technology, and communication. Let’s take a closer look at each of these.
Team Composition
We put together a team of skillful engineers and a scrum master. We worked in sprints. Thanks to this workflow, we could easily incorporate changes — in the app and project team structure.
“When necessary, Evojam scaled up the number of developers.”

The features were evolving, and so was the team size. Our flexibility and agile methodology saved time and money.
Technology
Virtual Control intended the platform to digitalize the supply chain between a buyer and a manufacturer. To serve this role, it had to have a lot of features — an order status update, image upload for digital inspection, dashboard with sales and products… And the list goes on.
We used our technical knowledge to translate these ideas into code. But we didn’t stop there. We also advised on UX design and functionality, drastically altering some components. And maximizing usability and accessibility in the process.
“Their flexible, dynamic thinking was fantastic. They proposed solutions whenever they found a problem.”

One such instance was a change in the report generator — the tool designed to display product information and inspection data. The initial idea was to build a complicated, multistep system that would create necessary documents. We proposed a tree data structure instead. This solution improved user experience and sped up the development process.
Communication
“Evojam (...) scheduled daily calls to ensure process. Once or twice weekly, we scoped the project to ensure that the backlog was correct.”

Despite a timezone difference, Evojam organized digital meetings every day. We worked in close collaboration with Virtual Control. Their insight into the chain supply process was enriched by our technical skills and experience. Regular Zoom sessions gave us a chance to discuss every issue on the spot. To combine different perspectives. To brainstorm solutions. To produce and push the best ideas. Our daily calls made the concept materialize in its final form — a useful and convenient platform for logistics professionals.
Results
In 4 months, we managed to create a fully functional app. The result satisfied the requirements of investors and potential customers.
“Evojam enabled us to iterate quickly and bring the prototype to life. That built interest with potential clients and investors.”

We transferred our knowledge and data to Virtual Control’s engineers. Now, they’re ready to carry on and develop their innovative product further.
